The setup wizard
Six steps in the browser — from empty server to open store in about five minutes.
After installing, open https://your-domain.com/install. The wizard is resumable: close the browser at step four and the next visit lands you back on step four. Every integration step can be skipped and finished later in the admin panel.
The six steps
- 1
Install token
The token from your terminal. Entered correctly once, the wizard is unlocked for you — and nobody else.
- 2
System check
Seven checks against your server: Node version, database, schema, file storage, encryption key, outbound HTTPS, store URL. Anything red names its concrete fix; yellow does not block.
- 3
Database
Shows the database and schema state. Migrations run automatically when the container starts — usually there is nothing to do here.
- 4
Admin account
Your operator account: name, email, password (at least 10 characters). This is what you will sign in with at
/sign-infrom now on. - 5
Store basics
Store name, currency, default language, time zone. All changeable later under Settings.
- 6
Integrations & finish
Optional: SMTP credentials (with a test-mail button) and a Stripe key (verified live). Then the summary — “Finish setup” closes the wizard for good and takes you to the admin panel.
If something jams
- A wrong token says so plainly — it lives in
.env(grep INSTALL_TOKEN .env) and in the container log. - A stuck setup:
pnpm reset:installis the documented way back to the start (clears only the wizard state, no orders). - Red checks: every row names its fix. The most common cause is a wrong
APP_URLin.env.
Done — continue with first steps in the admin panel.
